There are many reasons for applying a new base of mulch every spring. One is to aid in the overall health and vigor of the plant material by acting as an insulator (improving the soils ability to retain moisture) and as a barrier, assisting in the control of weeds. In addition, the natural, fresh, dark color creates contrast, which enhances the overall perception of the landscape's greenery.
An application of double-ground dyed hardwood mulch will be installed and will occur after deciduous trees have dropped their leaves. Mulch will be spread such that none of the previously laid mulch is visible. All bed line edges and tree rings will be trenched at a depth of two (2) inches.
All work areas are then blown clean and left in an orderly condition.
A pre-emergent grass/weed control is applied to all beds at time of mulching. Existing weeds are treated and removed as needed.
Plant Bed & Pavement Weed Control
Landscape beds and payment areas are inspected for weeds/grasses and control measures are performed.
All shrubs will be pruned two times per season. Wherever possible shrubs shall be hand pruned to remove dead and damaged wood to allow for natural development of plant material and to create the effect intended by Customer.
